Rashtriya Military School Admission Test depends on entrance test and interview. It is known as across nation for its academic greatness and welcoming applications for confirmation in class 6 and 9.

The Rashtriya Military Schools were established to provide education to sons of defence staff in the Royal Indian Military Schools of King George. The school has many of its students in the armed forces and other services who represent the motherland with stellar abilities.


Rashtriya Military Schools invites applications for admission to class VI & IX. The admission will be done via Common Entrance Test for admission to class VI and IX in December and is automated OMR based in subjects mentioned under the head “Admission Test”. Admission to class XI will be based on class X board exam results. No written exam will be held for admission to class XI.

Entrance Exam

For class VI the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission will be held in December. The Exam will be automated OMR based in subjects of Intelligence, General Knowledge, Mathematics and English of class V standard.

Interview and Results

Candidates who clear the CET and are figuring in the merit list will be required to appear for interview at respective Rashtriya Military Schools. Final merit list will be prepared after the Interview. The result will be published on the website.

Applications Forms

The prospectus and application forms can be obtained from any of the Rashtriya Military Schools by paying Rs 550/-( Rs 275/- in case of SC/ST, copy of the Caste certificate to be submitted).

Age & Eligibility

Only boys between 10 to 11 years of age for class VI and Boys between 13 to 14 years of age for class IX of age as on 01 July other academic year are eligible for admission. Six months of relaxation in upper age limit is permissible for the wars of personnel killed in action.

Education Eligibility

Candidates should have passed class V for Cass VI from a govt/recognized school before the date of admission to a Rashtriya military school. However, a student studying in class V is eligible to appear in the respective entrance test.

  • 70% for wards of JCOs/OR of Army, Navy and AF (including Ex-servicemen).
  • 30% for wards of Officers of Army, Navy and AF (including retired Officers) and wards of civilians.
  • 50 seats are reserved for wards of service personnel killed in action.
  • 15% and 7.5% seats are reserved for SC and ST in all categories.
